Iran remains determined to stop the aggression against Lebanon, Lebanese MP Hassan Fadlallah, member of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc, affirmed, stressing that Tehran did not accept any agreement that excluded Lebanon.
Fadlallah said the Israeli occupation is seeking to undermine Iranian efforts to halt the aggression by intensifying its attacks on Lebanon, while also taking advantage of the Lebanese authorities’ position and their insistence on maintaining direct negotiations despite the ongoing massacres.
He warned that the authorities are “not only abandoning their duty, but also granting the enemy a political platform to justify its aggression.”
“We previously tried to avoid war and cooperated with the authorities, which extended full control over the area south of the Litani River, but they were unable to stop the attacks and abandoned their responsibilities,” Fadlallah said.
Fadlallah added that Hezbollah views Iranian support as a central pillar in confronting the ongoing Israeli aggression against Lebanon.
He also stressed the need to preserve the country and maintain internal unity, saying that “no one should intimidate us with the threat of sedition or internal war.”
Addressing the attacks on southern Lebanon, Fadlallah warned that the Israeli occupation’s actions are being carried out with US approval and amid suspicious complacency from authorities in Beirut.
He said these attacks aim to inflict maximum harm on civilians, raise the cost of steadfastness, and impose conditions of occupation and displacement across areas of southern Lebanon.
Fadlallah added that the Israeli occupation is seeking to create circumstances that could later facilitate territorial annexation, similar to what occurred in the occupied Syrian Golan, while also aligning with US financial and economic pressure targeting the resistance’s popular base.
He further accused factions within the Lebanese authorities of participating in this pressure campaign against the resistance environment.
Fadlallah stressed that the existence of the Resistance and the steadfastness of the people continue to prevent the Israeli occupation from achieving its ambitions in Lebanon.
He emphasized that “there is no option other than resistance and steadfastness” in confronting the ongoing Israeli aggression against Lebanon.
According to Fadlallah, the mission of the Resistance is to prevent the occupation from stabilizing its presence and to wear it down through continued operations.
“Even if the occupation enters villages in the south, the Resistance will continue its operations to prevent it from establishing a foothold,” he said, recalling previous phases of confrontation with the Israeli occupation.
Fadlallah also highlighted the unity and cohesion of the Resistance environment as one of its primary sources of strength, particularly the relationship between Hezbollah and the Amal Movement.
He said coordination between Hezbollah and the Amal Movement exists at both the leadership and organizational levels, reinforcing the resistance front amid the ongoing aggression against southern Lebanon.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the latest Israeli attacks targeting southern Lebanon, eastern regions, and Beirut’s Southern Suburb, warning that the escalation has caused mass civilian casualties, displacement, and widespread destruction.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said the attacks resulted in the martyrdom and injury of large numbers of Lebanese civilians, while also forcing hundreds of thousands from their homes and damaging vital infrastructure and residential areas.
“The ruling establishment in the United States is considered an accomplice and partner in all the crimes of the Zionist regime in Lebanon, occupied Palestine, and the entire region,” the spokesperson stated.
The condemnation comes as "Israel" continues its aggression against Lebanon and the ongoing regional escalation linked to the occupation’s broader military operations across the region.
